Day 3: Your favorite new show (started in the year 2010)
I had a really hard time with this one because I don’t consistently watch any of the shows that debuted this season. The shows in the running for this blog: No Ordinary Family, Raising Hope, Hellcats and Outsourced.
No Ordinary Family can immediately be tossed out because, in all honesty, I don’t really like it. I watched a few episodes because I adore Julie Benz and wanted to give it a fair shot because she’s in it. The show just isn’t as fun, mysterious, dramatic, funny, anything as it could be. It’s kind of blah.
I don’t really think it makes a lot of sense to write about Raising Hope since I haven’t actually seen a complete episode. I’ve seen the beginning to many of this show’s eps because it follows Glee; but, I usually get tired and call it a night before anything happens in the show that makes me want to stay awake. [I can already hear the cries of “blasphemy!” ringing out across the land].
I loved the one episode of Hellcats I saw. But, for the same reason as stated above, I can’t write about this show either. I have only seen one episode and have absolutely no idea when the hell it’s on. I don’t even know what channel. I usually remember I want to watch it while I’m in my car and, by the time I get home, I’m already thinking about something else. I’m hoping Hulu picks it up so I can watch it on my own schedule.
So, Outsourced, thank Hulu Plus. This blog is dedicated to you!

Right off the bat, I have to say that if you find yourself one of those super sensitive, politically correct people - you might not want to watch this show. There’s toilet humor, sexual innuendo, cultural myth jokes and a girl-crazy dude named “Manmeet”.
Outsourced is based on the film by the same name and is about a call center manager who is sent to train customer service agents in India. Their merchandise? Items one might find at a Spencer’s Gifts. The humor of most of the items is lost on new hires since it’s cultural humor and, because of that, there’s quite a bit of making fun of Americans for buying stupid stuff like a singing fish. Since I, too, make fun of us for feeling the need to purchase things like dancing hamsters, I especially like that part of the show.
I don’t expect this to be everyone’s cuppa; but, give it a shot.
Enjoy a little Gupta:
And, of course, the theme:
The Cool Kids have weighed in (some of them, some are slackers). Check out their blogs to find out their picks for favorite new show of 2010:
